Description
The Fanny shirt features a loose, relaxed fit inspired by historical undergarments. It features long cuffed sleeves with a dropped shoulder, a soft pointed collar, a straight hem, and an inverted box pleat at the back for volume and movement. Mother-of-pearl button down front.
Made from a linen, cotton blend, the fabric is hand-dyed by artisans in Japan’s Enshu region using traditional small-lot techniques. Sun-dried under the region’s strong “Enshu no Karakaze” winds, the cloth develops distinctive wrinkles, soft fullness, and subtle tonal variation unique to each piece.
The shirt draws from 19th-century undergarments worn beneath Regency dress simple, breathable layers designed for comfort, practicality, and longevity.
